Parental Involvement
Parents’ Association
The school has an active Parents'
Association which creates a sense of community through fundraising
activities, with an emphasis on creating a friendly social network.
Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month. New members and
fresh ideas are always very welcome.
School Council
The School Council consists of the Principal, four staff members and eight members of the school community. Parents are invited to be actively involved on the School Council by standing for election for a term of two years or as co-opted members. Parents can also be involved as members of the following Committees of School Council without election:-
- Education
- Finance
- Buildings and Grounds
- Out of School Hours Care
- Public Relations
- Canteen
- Fundraising
- Sustainable Schools
School Council and its Committees assist with the smooth running of the school and are an excellent way for parents to become involved, make a contribution and remain well informed about school issues.
Classroom Helpers
You can also be of enormous assistance in programmes such as:-
- Daily reading
- Mathematics groups
- Sporting events
- Publishing of student work and assisting teachers with displays
- Assisting with the swimming programme
- Helping with major events such as graduation preparation
As parents you can also assist by observing the following:-
- CLEARLY NAME all your children's belongings
- Ensure your child has a good night's sleep by going to bed on time
- Send your child well equipped and on time
- Include all money sent in an envelope which is clearly labelled with your child's name, class, teacher, amount and reason sent
If you can assist with class groups, excursions and activities, this is appreciated not only by the school but also your child. Children love to have Mum or Dad participating in the school. Do not hesitate to offer your services, they will always be greatly appreciated!
