Specialist Programmes
Specialist programmes are arranged each year according to the School
Programme priorities and the availability of staff. These programmes
support the eight curriculum areas defined by the Victorian Board of
Studies. Currently we have specialist teachers in the following areas:
Physical Education, Visual Arts, Music, LOTE, Literacy Support, Student
Welfare and Instrumental Music. The specialist teachers work with all
classes.
Parkmore also has access to a range of
support service personnel, including educational psychologists, speech
pathologists and social workers to support the needs of individual
children.
The school implements programmes such as
Swimming in Years Prep-4, Inter-School Sport, Library and a buddy
system between Year 6 and Preparatory children. The assistance of
parents with these programmes increases their success and we welcome
you to assist us where you can.
Please note the day
your child has specialist programmes and ensure that they have
appropriate equipment, eg. library books and bag on library day.
Religious Education is carried out by tutors who hold current Board of Christian Education accreditation. Parents are asked on enrolment to indicate whether their children are to be involved in Religious Education or not.
