PRIVATE PIANO LESSONS
Jake has over 10 years experience teaching all styles of piano. His philosophy is to provide students with an engaging tuition in a warm and welcoming environment.
The lessons are ‘one to one’ and will be catered to your individual child and the style of music they would like to pursue. All lessons are held at school, during or after school hours.
Students that choose to pursue private piano lessons will commence their learning with tutor books and eventually branch out into other styles of music. As the student gets more skilled at piano, they will be able to ultimately translate their music and knowledge onto other musical instruments. Students that choose to undertake private piano lessons will have the option to undertake exams with the Australian Music Examinations Board.
Jake Bunston is a young enthusiastic, fun teacher, also teaching at other local schools such as Donvale Christian College. Jake organizes collaborative yearly concerts, which gives students a chance to perform and show off the abilities they have accomplished.

KEYBOARD LESSONS
The Kool Keyboard Program is a great foundation instrument that focuses on a great number of vital musical fundamentals. This Program develops musical reading skills, relevant theory, timing through the use of drum beat accompaniment, and explores various genre styles. Kool Keyboard also offers an opportunity not only to learn a piece of music, but to present it, using a number of the features contained within the state-of-the-art keyboards, that are very user-friendly. Its strength is its ability to sound like almost any instrument and it can also simulate instrumental combinations such as a rockband, jazz band, even a full orchestra. The keyboard also provides scope for inventing sounds and effects to provide atmosphere for particular tunes.
The format involves group tuition with up to 5 children in a weekly half-hour lesson involving one tutor, or up to 10 children with two tutors. Note: private individual lessons can be arranged and are held for 20 or 30 minutes. The tutor spends time with each child, but the success of the tuition depends on the child's ability to learn to work independently, following the routines given. Group tuition provides a valuable avenue to developing independent learning while also offering students the chance to learn both individual (solo) pieces and group arrangements. Keyboards are provided for each child in the group, and because headphones are used, each child proceeds with his/her program at his/her own pace. As children master each tune, stamp incentives are provided. Students are not required to bring their own instrument to school.
The tutors involved in the Kool Keyboard Program are highly qualified and experienced. They have been selected on their ability to work with children of this age group and are Keyboard specialists in their own right.

GUITAR LESSONS
The Grouse Guitar Program provides an opportunity for students to learn a popular instrument, in a fun and inspiring environment. Students learn to read and play music through a fun book with a backing CD and video website, and are introduced to a wide variety of musical styles and genres. As students develop their skills and learn to play chords, they can become valued members of the school band and are offered various solo opportunities at the discretion of the tutor. Performances may be held at the school assembly, functions and concerts whenever possible.
The format involves group tuition of up to 5 students in a weekly half-hour lesson, involving one tutor. Note: private individual lessons can be arranged and are held for 20 or 30 minutes. Students work individually on their own designated guitar and the tutor works with each student at their own personal level. Students also have the opportunity to work together in a group playing melodies and harmonies with each other developing ensemble and listening skills but the success of the tuition requires students to learn the material provided to them for home practice. For this reason it is recommended that students have a guitar for home use. Students are not required to bring their own instrument to school, but it is advised that they do so where possible.
The tutors involved in the Grouse Guitar Program are highly qualified and experienced. They have been selected on their ability to work with children of this age group and are Guitar specialists in their own right.
